Photochemical Synthesis, Spectral and Electrophysical Properties
of Composite ZnO/Ag Nanoparticles

Photochemical synthesis of ZnO/Ag nanoparticles was carried out in 2-propanolic solutions. Their optical properties were studied and parameters of plasmon resonance bands of silver nanoparticles within the ZnO/Ag composites were calculated. It was established that hypsochromic shifts of silver plasmon bands under the irradiation of nanocomposite arise due to the accumulation of excessive electrons on ZnO/Ag nanoparticle, the last resulting in the equilibration of conduction band potentials of semiconductor and metal components of the composite.
