Interaction of Methane and Oxygen with the Surface
of Oxide Manganese-Containing Catalysts

Interaction of methane and oxygen with the surface of oxide manganese-containing catalysts was studied by pulse reduction and temperature-programmed oxidation. It was supposed that in the process of oxida- tive dimerization of methane the phase, supplying strong-bonded oxygen for selective combination of methane, is an acceptor of weak-bonded oxygen in the phase, which catalyzes deep oxidation.
