Symbasis between Proton Affinity of Alcohol and Alkylbenzene Molecules
and Their Ability towards Dehydration and Dealkylation Reactions over Acidic Catalysts

The processes of dehydration of C2-C4 alcohol and dealkylation of alkylbenzenes over H-β and WO3/ZrO2 catalysts were studied using the method of temperature programmed reaction. On the basis of TPR spec- tra of olefin formation the linear relationships between the temperatures of maximal rates of these reac- tions and proton affinities of alcohol and alkylbenzene molecules was found.
