Noncovalent Interactions in the Crystal Lattices of Copper(II) Complexes
with Macrocyclic Ligands Bearing Aryl Substituents

Depending on the the substituents in the ligands different types of noncovalent interactions (hydrophobic, CH-π interactions and π-stacking) are observed in the crystal lattices of macrocyclic copper(II) com- plexes, leading to the formation of intermolecular aggregates (dimers) arranged in the layered structures with alternating hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions.
