Optical and Photocatalytic Properties of Quantum-Sized CdTe Particles

Technique for synthesis of the quantum-sized CdTe particles stabilized in aqueous solutions of mercaptoacetic acid from H2Te or NaHTe formed via electrochemical reduction of tellurium was devel- oped. Optical characteristics of CdTe nanoparticles were studied, their photocatalytic acvtivity in reduc- tion of methylviologen by sodium sulfite was found.
