Features of Formation of Active Centers of Co-Containing Catalysts for CO Oxidation
on the Carriers of Different Chemical Nature

The catalytic activity in CO oxidation of Co-containing catalysts (1.2 mass %) on various carriers - ZSM-5, Al2O3, SiO2 and ERI was studied. It was established by XPS, ESDR and TPR methods that the dif- ference of Co-containing catalysts activity is caused by different localization of cobalt ions, character of their distribution in subsurface layer of the catalysts and the presence of CoOh cobalt ions surrounded by outlattice oxygen, which have high ability to reduct.
