Using the data on kinetics of 4-nitrophenyl acetate aminolysis by solid potassium glycinate in the pres- ence of 18-crown-6 in chlorobenzene, the PTC mechanism in the solid/liquid system was proposed. Quan- titative parameters were determined for all stages of the catalytic reaction cycle including the partitioning of the reagents between the phases and the reactions involved.

Key word phase transfer catalysis, solid phase, ω-phase, aminolysis, potassium glycinate, 4-nitrophenyl acetate, crown
ester, chlorobenzene.
