Influence of Composition and Structure of Titania/Silica
on Their Photocatalytic Activity in Destruction Reaction of MB

Catalytic capability of titania/silica produced by flame synthesis and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of titania onto fumed silica was compared in photocatalytic decomposition of methylene blue (MB). CVD-TiO2/SiO2 showed higher catalytic activity in decomposition of MB because of both textural fea- tures and the presence of anatase in CVD-TiO2 in contrast to fumed titania/silica.
