Fragmentary Kinetic Models of the Mechanism of Fischer - Tropsch Synthesis

Unlike traditional kinetic models describing dependence of concentrations of all products on the numbers
of carbon atoms and widely used for analysis of the mechanism of the Fischer - Тropsh synthesis, frag-
mentary models establish a relation between the concentrations of the limited number of products. They
could be built, if it is succeeded to pick up the dimensionless function of such concentrations, which does
not change at the change of concentrations. Similar models are created basing on the fragments of kinetic
schemes of the process mechanism. They are intended for identication and discrimination of the mecha-
nisms from the data obtained both in differential and integral reactors. The general principle of construc-
tion of fragmentary models is described. The examples of identication and discrimination of different
mechanisms on the basis of fragmentary modeling with the use of the experimental data for the cobalt cat-
alyst are presented.
