Simultaneous Growth of Spheroid and Tubular Carbon Structures by Pyrolysis of Benzene

Spheroid carbon structures formed by pyrolysis of benzene simultaneously with nanotubes are selectively deposited in a lower-temperature zone of the reactor. It was proposed that spheroid and tubular carbon structures are formed due to condensation reaction of benzene and its homologes molecules. The curva- ture of the formed structure originates at the moment when molecules, in one of which the complanarity is absent because of the presence of sp3 hybridized carbon, interact.
