Structural and Optical Characteristics of CdxZn1-xS Nanoparticles,
Stabilized in Aqueous Polymer Solutions

Structural and optical characteristics of CdxZn1-xS nanoparticles synthesized in aqueous solutions of sodium polyphosphate, gelatin and polyvinyl alcohol were studied. It was shown that the stoichiometric ratio of Cd(II) and Zn(II) in the nanoparticles can differ from that in the parent solution. It was found that the basic parameters determining the final size of CdxZn1-xS nanoparticles are the nature and concentration of the polymer, the initial reagents concentrations ratio as well as the temperature and duration of the post-synthesis treatment.
