Influence of Cathode Material
on the Processes of Electrochemical Activation
and Dehalogenation of C-2 Freons

The influence of cathode material (GC, Pt, Ag) on the processes of electrochemical dehalogenation of C-2 freons (F113 (CF2ClCFCl2), F113B2 (CF2BrCFClBr) and F114B2 (CF2BrCF2Br)) was studied. Such re- actions lead to formation of valuable chlorotrifluoro- or tetrafluoroethylenes. The promoting effect of sil- ver cathode on the studied processes, as compared with the other used materials (GC, Pt), was found. The conclusion was made about the optimal within this study conditions for carrying out such processes.
