Catalytic Synthesis of Carbon Nanotubes from Ethylene
with the Presence of Water Vapour

The multi-walled carbon nanotubes were catalytically synthesised from ethylene with the presence of wa- ter vapour. The structure of the nanotubes was explored by transmission electron microscopy, high reso- lution transmission electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. It was shown that the highest yield of the nanotubes with diameters from 20 to 40 nm and the length more than 1 μm and the average inner di- ameter of nanotube of 0.92 nm is reached by using of concentration of water vapour of 0.32% and nickel catalyst.
